Specialist Operations participates in the exhibition ‘London +10’

Specialist Operations participates in the exhibition ‘London +10’ with the project “Terrorism as Urban Practice” at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London. Since the early 1970s when it was first established by Bernard Tschumi, the AA’s Diploma Unit 10 has experimented with diverse ways of engaging with the city and in the last ten years, led by Carlos Villanueva Brandt, the unit has focused this engagement on London, in the process developing the concept of direct urbanism. The ‘London +10’ exhibition explores 20 years of this work, and speculates on the relationship between the live realm of the city and its urban fabric. The exhibition includes 40 projects that tackle topics such as politics, crime, sex and terrorism, overlays them over the reality of London and hightlights ten key portfolios from 1989 to 2009. The exhibition opening will be accompanied by the launch of the London +10 book, edited by Carlos Villanueva Brandt and produced by AA Publications.
